Pilates for pregnant women

Wellness, safety and community - Pilates programmes that support you throughout your pregnancy

Pregnancy is a time of great change in the body. Muscles, joints and connective tissue are affected by hormones and the centre of gravity gradually shifts, which can cause discomfort such as back tension, fatigue or increased strain in the pelvis.
Pilates is a gentle and effective form of exercise for pregnant women because the exercises strengthen the deep abdominal muscles, pelvic floor and spine - areas that need extra support during this period.

Closed class over 10 weeks

Pilates for pregnant women is offered as a closed programme with a maximum of 7 participants.
This means that you train with the same women every week and that your instructor can follow your progress closely. We focus on building strength, balance and well-being - and give you tools that you can take with you into labour.

We train on our reformer/tower equipment for varied training throughout the programme.

Why Pilates during pregnancy?
Pilates training is ideal for pregnant women. Pilates relieves and strengthens the areas that are most stressed during pregnancy and prevents typical problems such as back pain, tension and fatigue.

You'll get in touch with the deep muscles that make postnatal rehabilitation easier. In our postnatal programme, you can also use Pilates training to confidently start exercising after childbirth.

Who can train?

If you are unsure whether you can participate, please ask your doctor or therapist for advice before signing up. You are also welcome to contact us if you are unsure if you can join the programme.
